Account and data deletion
How to request deletion of your OrYap account and data — and what is deleted versus retained for legal reasons.
This page explains how you, as an OrYap user, can request deletion of your account and the associated personal data. It is publicly accessible without login and supplements Section 11 of our Privacy Policy (https://oryap.app/en/privacy).
1. How to request deletion
In short: email privacy@oryap.app with the subject “Account deletion” — or delete your account directly in the app.
Option A — directly in the app (fastest)
Open OrYap, go to your account in Settings and choose “Delete account”. Deletion is immediate and irreversible; no support email is required.
Option B — by email
If you no longer have access to the app, send an email to privacy@oryap.app with the subject “Account deletion”.
- Where possible, use the email address registered to your account, or tell us what it is, so we can identify your account.
- For security reasons we confirm the request via the email address on file before we delete anything.
- We handle your request without undue delay and within one month at the latest (Art. 12(3) GDPR).
2. What gets deleted
Account deletion irreversibly removes:
- all stored original-audio files of your account,
- all notes and entries (including list items),
- your AI feedback,
- your idea projects and shopping categories,
- your profile and your login account.
3. What is retained for legal reasons
For legal reasons, even after account deletion we archive or retain:
- billing/subscription data and consent records — to meet accountability and retention obligations. Tax and commercial retention obligations in Austria are generally 7 years (§ 132 BAO, § 212 UGB).
- a minimal deletion record (e.g. account ID, email, plan, time of deletion) to be able to evidence the deletion.
